Address Bar not working on Internet Explorer 6
Hi,

I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 with Internet Explorer 6. My problem is that the address Bar is not working on Internet Explorer 6. Cannot pull down the drop down menus of sites, cannot manually type in an address. If I attempt to type an address in the address space I can type it in but when I hit enter or "GO" nothing happens. Please does anyone know how to fix this problem...

Re: Address Bar not working on Internet Explorer 6
Try the following steps :
Go to Internet options from control panel.
Click on advanced tab and put tick on "Enable third browser extension"
click on apply and ok.
Then try to launch Internet explorer and check if you are still facing the issue.
In case explorer is working fine, download "Spybot search and destroy" from internet and scan your computer with that..

Note : In case explorer, it it does not open then open my computer and see if you can browse and download by trying web address in My computer address bar.

Re: Address Bar not working on Internet Explorer 6
Here's the shortcut to eradicate your issue of Address Bar not working on Internet Explorer 6, to do this, go to Start - Run - Regedit and click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer. Then delete the Internet Explorer registry. Go back to the top of the registry directory HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft, and import the Internet Explorer registry from the diskette or CD (File Import).

Close the registry editor and restart Internet Explorer. Try it out and it should work.

The issue may be with Toolbar settings, try to change the Toolbar settings:

1. On Internet Explorer, click View and then go to Toolbars.

2. If there is not a tick mark next to Address Bar, click Address Bar to place the tick mark. If there is a tick mark next to Address Bar, click Address Bar to remove the tick mark, and then click Address Bar to place the tick mark.

3. If the Address bar is in the upper right corner and not available, right-click Address, and then click Lock the Toolbar and remove the tick mark.

4. Click Address, and then drag the Address bar where you want it.
