Playing Dead Island with Playstation Move, Xbox Kinect
As we all know that the Dead Island is the first person action game and this is ideal for the Playstation Move system as well as the Xbox 360 Kinect. I am starting this thread to know that if you love to play this game in one of these modes or have a preference to play with the pad as is traditional? Please reply with your opinion.

I must say that I was extremely doubtful regarding the use of movement-based controllers meant for First Person Shooters except it appears that Killzone 3 have earned a fair bit of optimistic press used for its inventive use of Playstation Move peripheral, thus maybe the idea is not dead as well as buried just yet.

As for Kinect, the technology is surely there because I am owning a Kinect myself, the hardware is particularly notable, although they badly require a few appropriate games to support it, since right now it's more a innovation and must have accessory. I would imagine that something Kinect-related would possibly work like a 'hybrid' through a control pad, more willingly than just using the sensor itself like the sole method of control.

I have yet to utilize PS Move for something and it is same for Kinect. I am not a fan of it at all. I was a beta tester for hardware and initially it was really fun, it got boring really fast. Personally I am going to continue with the controller that I am having.

After a few minutes of game play crisis game starts pausing after every few seconds
I am getting some issues when I play crysis. I have made a gaming pc with really good specs, but when I play crysis game, till minutes it runs smoothly, but after that it starts pausing after every few seconds and then it crashes ultimately. I checked the temperature of my GPU, CPU and RAM and they are not running hot, so is my hdd is the reason for this problem I have 1TB green hdd. I can’t understand why this happening, I sure that my specs are not the reason for this issue as they are enough for this game, then do I have any other internal problem? I also tried to default the clock speed but that didn’t made any difference.

You are having these issues only with this game or with other games also. If it is with every game then the problem can be internal. But, if it is the only game having this issue, then the problem can be within the game only and in that case, check for any latest patch for that game. Because, it is possible, that the developers of the game may have noticed this issue, and have fixed it in any next patch. So I will suggest you to search for the latest patch for this game.

All of my source engine games run fine and So far, I played only one non source engine game and that is borderlands and it also don’t have any issue. And also, as I have bought it through steam, so I think the updates will have been installed in it previously but when looked into detail of the game’s update then I found that the issues listed there were similar to mine.

I think, this all can also be because of some background tasks consuming more CPU resources. So, I will suggest you to try getting ‘game booster’. Another thing is that, your antivirus program may be scanning each file in your pc. So change it to gaming mode. Also as you have mentioned you are using a green hdd, I will have to say that they are not too good for gaming. And also the Green hdds have slow seek time.

I wonder, if the hdd is the reason for affecting the game performance. I want to add here that it runs highest almost everything, including antiailiasing, in dx9 mode, but it glitches in dx10, doesn’t matter what the quality setting is set to.

It can somewhere be possible that your drive is affecting the performance of game because it is a green 5200rpm. And it is really slow in real gaming terms. You can test it, if you have any other drive. Try to install that game on any other drive and then you can clearly notice the difference.

I was having the similar issues with this game. It was keep freezing when I play it for several minutes. But I fixed this issue by doing a clean boot. You should also try doing this. You can do this with msconfig from start menu, and then in under services tab, there will be windows services only checkbox to select. If that works, then select only one service at a time in order to find the hog. I worked for me. Hope it fixes your issue also.

I did a clean boot, same way as you said, but it didn’t worked for me. I am still getting glitches in this game. I think I will have to re-install this game again. I will try doing this. I hope it will work for me.

Which kind of game Dead Island co-op is?

Which kind of game Dead Island co-op is?
I have a very important question about Dead Island co-op. I want to know, which type of game it is? Is it a story game, or a game where you can roam any where freely and you can just kill several zombies and you can find some new weapons? And if this game is a story game then I think the best thing will be to pass it on single player and join a coop when you get any cool weapons.

I also want to know about Dead Island co-op game. It sounds pretty fantastic, on the basis of what I have heard about it till now. I got to know, it is a cross between Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead, and in addition to that it has a much bigger RPG (Role Playing Game) element attached with it. So I think it will be going to be a different and a better gaming experience.

Dead Island co-op is something drop in and drop out like game in which will have the choice of joining others games and also let people join your game. I can’t say that whether you will have your weapons with you when you join other game or if you lose any weapon in other game accidently then you will get it back or not, when you will come back to your own game. Whatever it be I am sure it would be a fantastic game.

Dead Island, is there is any need of improving Logan’s abilities?
Since now what I have seen is, the Logan doesn’t have very good skills and he is expert in just throwing objects. I think you all will be agree, that only a skill of throwing objects at zombies will not let survive in a zombie invasion. So, I think Dead Island should give him some extra abilities to improve his strength. They can give him ability to run faster than other 3 characters because he was an athlete when he was in school. I want to know your opinion about this.

Logan is my favorite amongst all the 4 characters and I will always play this game as Logan only. Therefore, my opinion will definitely be bias. I will like if it will have more abilities in order to make him more perfect

I also like Logan, because of his ability of throwing stuffs. He can throw an axe at zombies head with a great accuracy which easily knock them off. And yes it would be good if it will have proficiency in other skills also.

I cannot agree that Logan is good at only throwing stuffs. He can be the Jack all skills and then be expert in anything and off course specially in throwing. He can also be good with some weapons like a long blade. I think all characters should have a unique playing style. I also want to add that, it may be my first game in which I am playing as a girl lead character. By the way, I am sure that Logan will learn and his ability will enhance throughout the game and at the end he will become master in many skills.

I think, first of all Logan should collect some objects which can be thrown, before he can use his anger skill. One thing I am wondering about is, If Logan always has those knives in his backpack then why wouldn’t he use them?

According to what I think, each character’s ability is fine with them. All of them have unique abilities. Xian can perform deadly slashes, Sam can control stomp and Logan can do lethal throws. And throwing stuffs is a really very good skill if you want to keep zombies at a distance. And it is not the only thing he can do he can also other attacks.

Dead Island, How big the Banoi Island is going to be?
Till now I got to know that Dead Island established on an open world tropical island. And therefore, I was thinking that what will be the total area Banoi Island be covering? Will it be smaller like GTA 4 or will it be something very large like Just Cause 2? I was also thinking will it have different loading zones or it will have just a common and large area.

It will definitely be smaller than ‘Just Cause 2’. Because, Just Cause 2 was nearly 500 sq mile and I think that is really a great size to be covered. The size was OK for Just Cause 2 because it was having aircraft also, which you can use to travel long distance. But, In Dead Island, you will be on your feet most of the time and it will take really a very long time to travel from one part to another part.

I think it will be small or nearly medium sized Island but it will not be too big. If it will have an airfield then it can be of medium size else it has to be small. By the way the screen shots which I got to see looked pretty awesome, no matter they were small or medium sized.

I wish it would not be smaller than the Fallout New Vegas map at least. Their maps were really very small. I want Dead Island to be very large, because I want to spend a lot of time in Dead Island World. Till now I liked only Resident Evil 5 amongst all the zombie games that I had played.

I think the Island will be neither too big nor too small. I presume they will add different ‘locales’ to the map and there will be possibility of travelling between the locales automatically. But I will also like if the Island will be a fully open world. And if it will have vehicle in it then the travelling will also become simpler.

Will Dead Island knock Left 4 Dead off?
Valve’s zombie-killer shooter game Left 4 Dead was liked by almost all the players and both, L4D 1 & 2 broke many records. I also liked Left 4 Dead. But now, as I view the trailers of Dead Island and I think it will also be a very awesome game. But, though it is gaining too much popularity because of publicity, I still doubt that Dead Island will be able to beat Left 4 Dead. I want to know your opinion about this.

I can be sure that it will Dead Island’s first version will not beat Left 4 Dead, but ultimately Dead Island can win the race, as it also looks a very awesome game and it will give a tough competition to Left 4 Dead 2.

Left 4 Dead was a typical zombie shooter game, but I think Dead Island will open a whole new category for zombie shooter games. I can’t say that Dead Island will beat Left 4 Dead 2 or not but seams it will sure be a game of the same level as of Left 4 Dead. And there are chances that Dead Island knock Left 4 Dead off. But, It depends upon the users of both games that which game they will like more.

I was not presuming this initially buy later as I saw that buzz about Dead Island is very large in the comparison of what we have seen about Left 4 Dead so far. Left 4 Dead ad campaigns were also the biggest launch in the gaming history but Dead Island is somewhere one step ahead than that of Left for Dead. And therefore Dead Island has incredible intensity of being more popular and become most played game in future.

According to what I have read about Dead Island till now, I have found that they have only one similarity that both have zombie enemies, else they are completely different from each other. Left 4 Dead was a run and gun type shooter game and I think it was so popular only because it was a multiplayer game. But, Dead Island seems to be more slowly placed and looks like it is less about shooting and more about actually finding out the ways to survive between zombies. And I have also heard that it has an RPG (Role Playing Game) element also, in which you will have ability to upgrade your character.

Though Left 4 Dead was an enjoyable game but it was little unrealistic. And it is also a fact that it is getting older now. And it is well known that Dead Island is surely going to be a new thing, because, it is not a tedious shooter game, like every zombie game. It is a Role Playing Game which is more concentrated on surviving rather than shooting and killing. So, I don’t think Left 4 Dead has anything to be compared with Dead Island. It will definitely beat Left 4 Dead.

There is no doubt that Left 4 Dead is really a fun game but, if you are comparing it with Dead Island then I must say that as soon as Dead Island will hit the store shelves, Left 4 Dead will not have any place for it. Because, Dead Island is incredible in terms of graphics as, I have seen some of the screenshots of this game. And the graphics of Left 4 Dead is not as good as the graphics of Dead Island. I am sure that Dead Island is going to be the number one multi-platform Zombie game.

I also have only that much information about Drowner. In addition to that I also know that when he spits, then it affects your vision, and can make you blind for a moment. It can be very harmful if you are under an assault.

So, there is another big Zombie who vomits. And as its name suggests I think this is a zombie who can drown you. And I think, once I have seen him drowning a character in a video.

As I got to know from a website, Drowners are special type of zombies which normally reside in deep under the water. Its skin is so stretchable that you can see its internal organs from outside also. It attacks on its enemy by ejecting or spitting a toxin which reduces the eye sight of their enemy.

As you are discussing about drowners here, I want to get clear one doubt that I have. I want to know, whether drowner and floater are same or they are different types of zombies having same name. Till now I think that both are same and they just have been renamed and that’s why there is two names. But, I am not sure about it. So, if anyone knows about this then please reply.

I really don’t know it exactly, but I think Drwoners and floaters will have slight difference in between them, just like Walkers and Vessels are different

I have read about floater and drowner somewhere and according to that, floaters are sub types of Drowners because it have many qualities similar to drowners. In Dead Island, Floaters are a special type of zombies which seems to be similar to Drowners. Floaters can be described as large and bloated zombies. You can find them in the sewers of the Moresby city. When they get too close to their opponent then they attack their opponents by spitting malicious green bile on them.
